I think that's the idea. Play it through, then go back and get 5 stars.

I've only played it once. Only done one traffic case.

Watched gunn play it over the weekend. The game looks very good and entirely unique. The technology they used for facial movements is outstanding. I just couldn't believe it.

The facial recognition makes this game. If there was no good facial movements it would be really hard to decide if someone was lying or telling the truth.
On one of my cases I only got 1 star. lol, epic failed on that one.

Should use a guide to help you. They'll be something out there that will tell you the questions you should be asking.

I'm not gonna use a guide until I have completed the game first.
I'm saving the guides for my platinum run. Smile

I've never seen Heroes, but a bunch of Mad Men actors star in L.A Noire. The guy you play as is voiced and modeled from 'Ken Kosgrove" from Mad Men.

Neither have I. Someone posted this on another forum and I stole it Wink
I like it how games now days are using real voice actors and models.

Fuck man. Good job.
I havn't played it in a couple days now. I was up to Homicide when I stopped.
I found that it got a bit repetitive but I'm gonna get back into it.
I have to do a second playthrough if I wanna get platinum. lol

I probably wont play this anymore. I just got bored of it and I have exams coming up now.
Plus, InFamous 2 comes out this week which means I probably can't pick it up for another week or 2.. lol

That's a bit stupid. you've paid for half a game, and a fantastic game at that. So much for going for platinum.
But hey, its not me so whatever.

Does anyone know of the top of their head how many cases there are in the main campaign?

Was reading somewhere that in a sequel they may try and incorporate the motion capture to a person's whole body and not just the face.

Sounds like Team Bondi are dicks to work with. When Brad was over a a few weeks ago he said he had a friend who worked for them and he said that it was a bad atmosphere. Now Rockstar aren't going to publish the inevitable sequel due to their problems with Team Bondi and also in the newspaper it sounds like there have been lots of people uncredited for their work on the game. Shame really as it is a good game (im 2/3's the way through it).

Rockstar won’t be publishing the next Team Bondi game, so the Australian L.A. Noire developers will need to find a new publisher.

That’s according to emails picked up by Gamesindustry.biz (and reported by Eurogamer) overnight, that suggest that the working conditions were so terrible at Team Bondi that Rockstar now has “disdain” for the studio.

Cole investigating one of the many, many murders in the game.
The email whistleblowing follows allegations a week or two back that suggested the conditions at Team Bondi were unworkable, and in particular director Brendan McNamara’s “controversial management style.” Reports abound that workers had to run 110 hour weeks, “often without overtime pay.”

“I’ve heard a lot about Rockstar’s disdain for Team Bondi,” says the source, “and it has been made quite clear that they will not publish Team Bondi’s next game.”

“Team Bondi are trying to find another publisher for their next title, but the relationship with Rockstar has been badly damaged – Brendan treats L.A. Noire like a success due to his vision but I think Rockstar are the ones who saved the project. They continued to sink money into L.A. Noire, and their marketing was fantastic.”

“Without their continued support, Team Bondi would have gone under several years ago,” said the source. Strong words, but it’s evident that a lot of L.A. Noire’s retail success was down to the Rockstar branding – the game itself was hardly the best thing this year.

“It’s also worth pointing out that Rockstar used to be very keen on making Team Bondi something like ‘Rockstar Sydney’ – the more they worked with Team Bondi management, the more they came to understand that this was a terrible idea.”

Finally finished this game.

I really enjoyed it. It is a vast, story-driven game with many missions which, at times, can be repetitive (esp. the middle half of the cases/storyline). However credit must be given to the developers as there is no other game quite like it. The graphics are standout and the facial animation is amazing and here is hoping it becomes standard in future games. I would play a sequel or similar game, but not for some time (I need a break after playing this game!).

Unfortunately, it won't become the standard. Too much effort.
I hope that Uncharted's visuals would become a standard, but they never will. Most developers are too lazy.

I got all the DLC for L.A Noire. They're alright. Just adds three more cases to the game.
