Red Dead Redemption - Anticipation & Realisation

Post  mrcrowley24 on Tue Mar 23, 2010 2:11 pm

So whose getting this?

Its by the guys who do the GTA series so you can expect it to be a big open world western. Graphics look good as well. Ive never really liked Western movies, but I did enjoy Gun on the last gen consoles. It comes out may 21st in PAL territories.

Excuse me please if someone has done the research, I need some help regarding buying this - I see that EB, JB and Game are the three stores offering it as pre-order. But what is the best way to do this?
If I pre-order and buy it online do they post it so it arrives on the day of release?
Do you know if these places will take trade ins for pre-ordered games?
I think each store has a different pre-order special offer. Which is best?
Also is it best to get the limited edition?

I pre-ordered the limited edition online from GAME, getting all of the content for the stand alone game price of $109.
I don't know your situation but if you trade in games, you will get it for cheaper, to put it simply. haha
But it will cost you more in petrol and energy. ;D

If you buy it online, it will ship on release date, so you will get it 1-2 weeks after that.

Preorders don't mean much. Just order it at EB (you can trade in towards it) and you will get a whole extra bunch of game content with it, provided you order the limited edition, which is only $10 extra.

Ta guys. Appreciate the info. I would be spewing if I ordered it online and then had to wait weeks past release date for it to arrive. By then all the posses (wth - how do spell the plural of posse) would have left town.

Really? That seems a bit shit. mightyape.co.nz ship the afternoon before release and it arrives first thing in the morning on your doorstep. I think they're expanding into Australia in the near future too, keep an eye out for them (mightyape.com.au presumably).

I'm talking international orders. Unless they specifically state that it will ship to arrive on/around release date, you will get it 10 or so days after release.

All the trailers I've seen for this are fantastic. Will I get it? Mos def!
I remember my cousin & I playing sunset riders on the SNES and wondering if they'd ever bring out another game with the same Western feel.
Wait there was one that was pretty good . . . GUN on the Game cube.

Attention tag and TOW. It's time to merge for the good of gaming (and the entire universe). Of course I am only proposing a merge for this particular game - as far as any other game goes TOW shall remain the mortal enemy Twisted Evil But with Red Dead we are facing an evil that needs our joint awesomeness to destroy.

QD have finally found a reason for their existence. The Quick & The Dead actually makes sense now Rolling Eyes

They have already started planning how to dominate, and it's frightening affraid

And just remember - Don’t squat with your spurs on.

I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed by this game. The multiplayer will be slow and problematic. People will be playing this for no longer than 3 weeks.

I'm getting it for the single player only.
