Nah I didn't. When people make mistakes in their sentences it is usually because they are typing out of rage so don't care

I'll enjoy it.

Some reasons why the game didn't catch me straight up:

- Slow, unresponsive movement, especially on horseback
- Average graphics with environment pop up. Blurred textures.

some good things:
- great shooting mechanics
- ability to match horse speed with others

Looks like it is exactly the same as Gunn pointed out.

Still GTA4 was a great single player experience, so should this.

To me it feels like it could've used a few more months in production.

So, who here has this?

Surely there's someone out there that isn't sucking Rockstar's cock.

I don't understand why it is such a problem that people like this game?

I already told you it has nothing to do with rock star, if any other company had made it (exactly the same way) it would still be an awesome game

It's not a problem, and it's got nothing to do with Rockstar really.

I'm just saying that surely somebody is willing to say something bad about the game. The visuals are definitely mediocre.

I'm fine with people loving, and so they should if they enjoy it, but people (and reviews) are acting like it's the best thing we've ever seen. I just think it's far from it.

It is because it came out yesterday.

The graphics are no worse than just cause 2. The game has a massive map, with many, many NPCs. They are fantastic considering.

Actually, I take that back. It has everything to do with Rockstar.

If a quiet developer (like Starbreeze) made Red Dead then nobody would have been watching the release of this game and it would not have been mentioned anywhere. Everybody would have missed out on this "amazing title".
Take Call of Juarez for instance. That is a really good western game, but who here played it? No one. Was there a discussion about it? No.

End of the day, it annoys me that the public only go for the big name titles, while the other quality games by not so well known developers get ignored, and thus people have nothing to compare RDR to, so they think it's great.

Cmon Gunn you are taking a very elitist view of this whole thing. Games are no different from any other item available in the marketplace. Things people hear about (through marketing or whatever) are going to be more popular cos they reach a wider audience. Not everyone has the desire or inclination to be as knowledgeable as you about games. Most of us are not 'experts'.
Seems you are pretty keen to discredit anyone who is going to post something they like about this game. It's a shame cos it kills debate and lighthearted discussion by the non-experts. I appreciate reading your comments on games because of your experience but each individuals opinion is valid -because it's THEIR opinion.

I only played a short time but liked it so far. Seems like there are massive amounts of different gameplay options. Certainly going to take me a long time to get a good handle on how to play it.

I said im happy for people to enjoy it because if they like it then they like it (and I like it myself) but I can point out it's flaws and other people should too.

I don't have this game nor do I suck Rockstars cock.

I don't really have the time to go out and get it either.
If people reactions are this strong in a few weeks time I'll get it.

That's a good option. Hopefully it doesn't suffer the same fate as GTA4.

I like this game, because it achieves what it set out to brilliantly. If you want something with awesome graphics, you won't find it in a game of the size.
If you want something that runs 100% smooth not matter what, you won't find it in a game of this size.
If you want something that doesn't run on rockstars engine, don't buy a rockstar game.
If you think this game is crap because other games are good, I don't care.

The positives in this game far out weigh the negatives, which would explain the positive reviews it has recieved.

"you" refers to anyone reading, not just gunn

Who would want something that "doesn't run on rockstars engine"?
who knows that much about games.

there's bigger games out there that look better (oblivion, fallout, fuel, just cause 2, assassins creed 2, afrika, infamous, red faction, and even Burnout). For a game with such a budget, it should look better too.

"If you think this game is crap because other games are good" - what does that mean? how can a game be crap because others are good? it should be judged on it's own merit.

Like I have said a lot, relax. I say buddy a lot, don't think it is me talking down to you.

I aggree it has not perfect graphics and some flaws, but all I did was give my opinion to justify those things.

Lastly, don't do that - it's a bitch move when you started the argument.

I think you take things seriously.

all im doing is stating my opinion. Don't tell me to relax

and there is no argument. I said it's not brilliant "best game of all time" stuff. that's it. that is not an argument, I believe.
