The last three games I have individually scored 77, 76 and 69 points.

In the game where I scored 69 points (latest game played) I also recorded 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 steals and 2 assists.

My running PPG is now 41.7 after 21 games.
This game is sick.

Should go a small forward trist.

Yeah that, or power forward and clean that glass lol.

I was doing alright as PG. I was averaging 10 assists a game but only 9ppg. Just my team players can't rebound for shit, so frustrating.

I actually find that to be a big problem in the game too.

If you play well enough then you will get put in a better team eventually. In the career menu you can see the teams that are interested in you and request a trade to one.
I got into lakers that way and now gasol rebounds everything. If you get back into the Celtics starting lineup then you will notice a better rebound rate.

The alternative is to go a PF or centre and rebound yourself. I reckon a taller guy is worth it, more versatile and more glory.

Boxing out is pretty important if you want to get rebounds. I think you hold down L2 to do that, and keep your opposite from grabbing the boards . Patience is key for defence like you said. Rushing into steals and blocks will only get you burnt. You're better off focussing on not doing anything wrong, than trying for the glory play.

Based on your stats cap, you should try a harder difficulty level! What level are you playing on? I'm playing on Pro, Simulation. It seems about right for me to get realistic stats.

I've been playing association more than my player lately for a change. I've also managed to complete 4 of the Jordan Challenges. I don't play those on simulation mode though, I'd never complete them.

I play on pro.
I personally do well but we only ever win by 10 points max. If I put it up we'll lose and I want MVP real bad! Haha

I'm also concerned that I'll start missing out on skill points and I want to build up as many as possible. I'll probably change the difficulty once I hit around 75 overall. Right not I'm 54 and it is slow going.

My only good stats are vertical, dunk, shoot in traffic and mid range shot.
Mid range shot I have found incredibly useful. I used to get 30 points a game just dunking but then discovered mid range shot. If you get the ball outside do a crossover then a quick shot you won't be defended and will get the score 90% of the time. So I score most my teams points. When I got 77 points my team got 95 points total, haha.

What is this simulation you speak of? Do you actually not play the games and just sim them weez?

As well as the difficulty levels there is another setting, I think it's called 'Game Style'. You can choose from casual, default, or simulation. I'm not sure what it changes specifically, but I liked the sound of simulation. Love me some realism.

I haven't really tried the others, it'd be interesting to see how it changes things.

As far as I know, Simulation means they are strict on the rules like the 3 seconds in key etc and charging fouls. Whereas Casual mode they are more lax on some of the rules

I just did a bit of experimenting. It looks as though the settings are effectively a set of sliders. I'm not sure if you guys have seen the sliders menu, but you can change the success rate of shots (from each range eg. close, medium, 3pt), success rate of steals, foul frequency etc.

Simulation has more fouls, less successful steals, and lower shot success rates. There were other differences too, but I can't remember them all now that I'm back in the office.

Well that just sounds awful.

You sure you can change the sliders in my player? I'll check tonight.

Been completing the Jordan Challenges.
I have completed 6 so far.
Am now doing the Finals V Lakers Challange. Winning 2-1. Lost the last game because of a buzzer beater 3 pointer by Vlade Divac (unlikely right) but there you have it, haha... was spewing

That seems like the hardest one I reckon. Averaging 11 assists through 7 games sounds tough. I haven't tried it though.

Vlade Divac for 3?! Haha!

Well I was playing my player last night, been doing outstanding for my first time through a season.
Then I get an injury, sidelines me for 5 weeks just before the all star games, so I didn't make either the rookie team or the all star team which just blows. On top of that I now haven't played enough games to qualify for MVP in which I was leading the race.

Really fucken bummed, it has taken me so long this season and now I will effectively win nothing.
I still have the playoffs which I can win but I was aiming for MVP.

Well normally you should only have to do it for 4 games for a sweep.
I found the first two games, Jordan could easily drive to the basket for the dunk but from game 3 onwards he just gets double teamed, lol. So I just scorch them from downtown instead.

To get the easy assists, I normally dish to either Armstrong, Pippen or Paxson on the perimeter or I gamble and give it to King or Cartwright for the post move. Cartwright's shot is so unco though, looks like he will always miss, but he surprises me sometimes, haha

Argh man that sucks cap!

My association is going well. A little too well actually, I'm considering going up a difficulty level. My Golden State Warriors are 10-3, and I just beat the Lakers in LA, and the Nuggets. Pau Gasol is out for the season though, which made the Lakers a slightly easier team.

I just won a trophy against the Nuggets for winning (in overtime) after trailing by more than 10 after the third quarter.

So I played my full season of my player at 12 min quarters, wow.
I got the MVP and rookie of the year too! Fuck yeah!

Guess what I find out though.... Both those trophies are glitched for now and my efforts were in vain.

Pretty bummed.

Are you serial?

I havnt played this in awhile, but reminds me of Lego Harry Potter, had to complete play through twice to get the platinum cos of glitchy gold bricks.

I have 2 more Jordan Challenges to go and then i'll (hopefully) plat Toy Story3 and I picked up MK VS DC Universe for $26 new.
Then got Black Ops, Lego Star Wars and NBA2k11 to complete

Yeah I'm serious tristo. Really bummed.

After not getting the trophies I looked it up to see what is happening.
If you get the two awards at the same time, you wint get the trophies.
It's really shit, that season took forever and now I'll have to wait for a patch and do it again with a new character. Fuck.

So I started my new season. I'm playing the same character just traded teams.
I'm with Oklahoma city thunder.
Problem is that now my player is so good, my stats are higher than kevin durant's are so I bump him out of the sf possie.

Kinda hoped that me or him would be put in sg so both could play.

I'm 95 overall now. Real nice to see a star next to your name and have the commentators talk about you like you are a marquee player.

Leading all star count by over 50k votes.
Full durability this time round so no risk of injury.

One game out of all star game - sprained ankle, miss 1 mother fucking game.

Can not be all star til season 3 now.
I am incredibly pissed off, don't talk to me.

I was sitting there stunned for about 30 seconds before I flipped out.
Played through 49 games without the slightest worry.

1 frigging game, seriously.

Another thing I just found out, I missed out on one of the career acheivements as a result of 2 years with injury at the exact same time: make it into the rookie/sophomore all star team.

I now can't get that unless I start again. Annoyed.

2k11 is taking it's toll on me now. After playing it for so long I now get frustrated so easily when I'm not having an unreal game.
I need a new game, but I want it to be a NBA game....
Tristo do you remember when 2k11 came out? I can't find a release date for 2k12 but I figure the games would b n a cycle?

They come out at the start of October. So unfortunately, there's still plenty of waiting to be done.

Have you stepped up the difficulty yet? Simulation mode makes it a whole new game!

Association mode is good too, but I find simulation too hard when I'm controlling the whole team.

Oh and as for my My Player, I've been playing it quite a bit again lately. I got traded to the bulls from the Rockets (I'm a shooting guard) and am averaging 23ppg, 11rpg, 6apg. My rebounding is way to high to be realistic, but other than that I like the difficulty level.

We're in third place in the conference behind the Heat and Celtics, but are on a tear in the second half of the season and catching up. Pretty accurate eh!
